Cultivation Simplified: Your Step-by-Step Guide
Initial Setup
-
Unbox and unroll your grow bags immediately.
-
Do not store in boxes or sealed containers. Place on a clean shelf in an open, dry room before and after inoculation.
-
Remove rubber bands and gently loosen gussets for proper airflow.
-
Store on a clean, cool shelf for 7–10 days.
-
Verify culture sterility through agar testing before use.
Inoculation Techniques
Traditional Method — Precise Inoculation Protocol
-
Angle the syringe needle so the liquid runs down the grain along the bag’s inner edge for even distribution.
-
As you withdraw the needle, hold the injection port gently against the bag and seal with micropore tape.
-
Use 2–10 ml of liquid culture (LC).
-
Flame-sterilize the needle between inoculations.
-
Keep bags upright with loosened gussets for airflow.
-
Once 20–30% of the grain is colonized, mix contents gently and flatten the substrate evenly.
-
After full colonization, add rubber bands at the base to discourage side pin formation.
Optimal Growing Conditions
-
Temperature: 70–75°F (21–24°C)
-
Humidity: 30–50%
Improper storage or deviation from these conditions can slow or halt growth. Moisture evaporation during colonization is essential for triggering pinning.
If fruiting within the bag, maintain the same room conditions.
If fruiting in a chamber, carefully cut the bag just below the substrate base after full colonization.
Pro Cultivation Tips
-
Keep bags sealed during colonization.
-
Use within 30 days of purchase.
-
Store on clean, cool shelves away from sunlight.
-
Use only liquid culture or agar—avoid spore syringes.
-
Maintain sterile conditions during handling and inoculation.
Important Notice
To confirm sterility, keep your bag on a clean shelf for 7–10 days (never inside the shipping box or sealed containers).
If you discover any concerns before inoculation, send a video showing the issue and the unused injection port—we’ll happily replace it at no cost.
Please note: once a bag is injected with culture, replacements or refunds cannot be offered. Always test cultures on agar and follow sterile procedures for best results.
