How to Use Your Supplies

1. Prepare in Advance: When buying or preparing your own supplies, store them for 10-14 days before using to ensure they're clean.
2. Maintain Cleanliness: Treat prepping a tub like surgery - you can't be too clean. Use 70% alcohol to clean your tub, gloves, masks, and any other equipment. Work in a clean space with no circulating air.
3. Gently Incorporate Spawn: Avoid handling your spawn and substrate with bare hands. Gently pour the spawn into the substrate bag, being careful not to let the two bags touch. This prevents cross-contamination.
4. Mix Thoroughly: Once the spawn is in the substrate bag, pinch the bag closed and give it a good shake or massage to thoroughly mix the contents together. This ensures even distribution.
5. Transfer to Tub: Carefully transfer the mixed spawn/substrate into your clean tub. Flatten the surface of the substrate using a clean metal spatula or similar tool.
6. Set and Forget: Once the tub is prepared, simply "set and forget" - no further handling is necessary.
